At The Moth Saint, we don’t just sell vintage—we resurrect it. Every piece we offer has lived a life, and our grading system makes sure you know exactly what kind of soul you’re bringing home. Whether it’s collector-grade or character-worn, here’s how we break it down:
Why not just call it all Grade A like everyone else?
Because we’re not everyone else. We built this for collectors, obsessives, and the people who actually wear their vintage. You deserve the truth up front—a system that treats the clothes with respect, not marketing fluff. We don’t believe 99.9% of worn items should be called Grade A. Most vintage will show natural signs of life—that’s part of the charm. But to earn our Sainted (A) grade, it has to be untouched or damn close. Think of it like trading cards: if it’s not mint, it’s not top tier. So when you buy a Blessed (B) from us, just know—it’s probably someone else’s “Grade A.”We try to photograph all issues with our garments so you know exactly what you are buying this includes but not limited to, marks, holes, snags, stains, pulls or anything we feel you may need to know.
Grade A – SAINTED (Mint / Deadstock)
Unworn, with original tags or packaging. Pristine condition—no wear, fading, or damage. The kind of find that feels like a time capsule.
Grade B – BLESSED (Excellent)
Lightly worn with no major flaws. Faint signs of age like minor print wear, small mark or soft fading. Fully wearable, sharp, and still turns heads.
Grade C – WORN IN (Good)
Noticeable wear with patina—think sun-faded cotton, light distressing, or tiny repairs (including holes). Character pieces that wear their history well.
Grade D – HOLY WRECK (Distressed)
Heavy fading, tears, stains, or signs of love. Ideal for bold styling, up-cycling, or DIY projects. Sacred ruins priced accordingly.
